The Art of Bathroom Remodeling

If my friends and loved ones had to describe me with just a couple of words they would likely call me a busy-body artist.  I am always busy creating and changing things to fit my own quirky style and that is just what I love to do.  My newest project is tearing up the guest bathroom in our house in order to create one that is not only prettier but also much more functional.  I do not know what the people were thinking when they did the original set up, but they were not thinking correctly!

The things that I will be changing are pretty big things, like: Continue reading

Art Foundation Final Project Bullying

Art students from around the world all know the importance of the final project, and the impact that work can have on opening doors to career opportunities after graduation.  The art project is not a mere academic delving into a theme or art form, but rather a catharsis of the soul at a time of transition and uncertainty in life.  Artists who are household names are often analyzed based on any final projects completed in art school.  Granted, there are many famous artists who did not attend art schools and had no affiliation with an art foundation before their careers took off, but even for them, their early works are later considered to be signs pointing the great things that would come.  That’s why serious art students take the final project seriously. Henri Matisse

Henri Matisse

Art. Art is something that many people love and enjoy. And why should they not? Art is full of wonderment and creativity. That creativity is something that lives deep down inside of an artist’s soul. The artist then finds a way to release the creativity in such a way that allows for others to be a part of the creativity too. For example, when a painter paints something remarkable, he shares that amazing work with people who can appreciate and value its Continue reading

Minnesota Art Therapy

Many people have never before heard of the concept of art therapy.  It is a wonderful therapy treatment for all types of people and scenarios and it can make a huge impact on the lives of participants.  In art therapy sessions the use of art, images, creative art processes, and even responses to creative art and art produced are all integrated to reflect different qualities and aspects of an individual.  Some of the perceived reflections can reveal personality, interests, abilities, and even personal conflicts.  All of that from art. Homeless Birds Need Love Too

Unique Bird House Ideas

I love when I see something that is typically very plain and boring taken to a whole new level because of someone’s creativity.  Let’s face it, without creative and artistic minds out there, we would live in a very dull world.  Luckily, everyone has their own talents and can offer up their own take and perspective on certain things.  One of my new favorite things is bird houses.  Not the same old boring ones that you would see at a big box store, but the ones that come from a vivid imagination. Beautiful Latte

Beautiful Latte

Nothing is so beautiful on a cold winter’s morning than the fragrant steam rising from a cup of well brewed coffee — except  for the compelling art designs swirled onto the top of it, by a skilled and talented barista.  Latte art has been around for a long time. It involves pouring cream onto the surface of a shot or more of pulled espresso, in a slow and even way while gently shaking the pitcher in various side to side patterns that cause the cream to form an image on the latte.  Many baristas who work in the top coffee shops and franchises of the world wake up each morning, arm their ADT Home Security systems, and set out for a day of artistic creativity that is sure to please.  How do they do it, you ask?  Let’s have a look. Continue reading

Arts & Craft Fairs

Arts & Craft Fairs

I am not sure if I have not been paying attention or if it is something new in my small town, but I have seen quite a few signs for arts and craft fairs over the last month.  I love arts and craft shows, and I have always had to travel to nearby cities to get in on the action.  While I have never set up my own booth at a fair, I have helped quite a few of my crafty friends in setting up and selling there own creations. Continue reading

Revival of Sand Art

Sand art is nothing new;  it’s been around in one form or another for thousands of years, but recently has enjoyed a renewal of interest among artists and crafters alike.  Sand art can be very expressive, and allows the artist to fully involve his emotions or feelings through the kinesthetic action of drawing in colored sand.  Also considered a therapeutic artform, sand art has been used for meditation.   Continue reading

Sommelier and Art

Becoming a master sommelier is not something that can happen overnight, obviously.  It takes much time and practice to become a person who has such an in depth knowledge of wines and how wines are produced to create various notes and sub notes in the flavors and distinctions of the wines.  Many actually consider it to be an art, and I am surely one of those people.  Consider all that must go into the certification and training to become a master sommelier, and you too will see that it takes a true artist to have such skill and knowledge as a sommelier.
